Each year the Essentia Institute of Rural Health provides clinical experience to more than 1,500 physician and pharmacy residents as well as medical and health sciences students enrolled in universities and colleges in the Essentia Health service area.
The institute also offers a robust continuing medical education program for practicing physicians, nurses, practitioners, and pharmacists using distance-learning technologies.
The Essentia Health library houses approximately 2,000 books and provides access to nearly 5,000 medical, nursing, allied health, and management journals in databases such as UpToDate, PubMed, and CINAHL.
Through UpToDate, an electronic information resource, Essentia Health staff can easily access the latest medical knowledge.
