Can I do a research or quality improvement project at Essentia Health?
Essentia Institute of Rural Health, as the education and research arm of Essentia Health, desires to cooperate with our academic partners to provide learners with an appropriate research experience. To be eligible to conduct a research project at Essentia Health, learners must meet the following criteria:
1.) Does Essentia Health have a Learning Experience Agreement with your academic institution?
• We will not enter into new learning experience agreements for student research projects.
2.) Has the student completed a clinical placement or internship at Essentia Health for this program?
• Clinical learners must have completed a clinical placement or internship experience at Essentia Health in order to be eligible to conduct a research project.
3.) Is the research project a requirement of the student's program?
• Research projects may only be conducted if the student's program requires a research project. Student is responsible for submitting proof that a research project is required. Essentia will support Quality Improvement projects, as required by the academic program.
4.) Does the student have an appropriate Principle Investigator identified for a research project?
• A Principle Investigator is required for research projects. The Principle Investigator must meet all criteria and be willing and able to perform the responsibilities of the role per Essentia Health's Principle Investigator Policy. Quality Improvement projects require an Essentia Health leader to sponsor the project.
